The Chalet

Both houses form a “two under one roof” dwelling, detached, with no immediate neighbours, outside urban areas, on the Fort den  Haakweg, which runs from the centre of the village to the North Sea  beach . The walking distance to the beach is about 3 minutes.

Originally a farm house (no.40), from the thirties with all its features, the house has been completely renovated and equipped with all the comforts of the present time. There is a front parking area, a driveway to a large backyard located on the sunny side, with patio and lawn. A large barn is the partial separation to a second play and sunbathing area (grass). There is ample parking on private land. House no.42 was originally the barn which over the years, has been built of stone and has been extended. Also this home is fully furnished and has been renovated for rental. This property also has a large garden and private parking. Our houses are not part of a holiday park (Breezand). Part of the backyard is used as a vegetable garden with fruit trees (apples, pears, plums, cherries and blackberries)

On the adjacent plot there is a tennis park with parking facilities. (The tennis court can be rented for EUR 12, – per hour). At 300 meters behind our house is a unique sub-tropical garden (to visit) which overlooks the reservation-park where once stood the Fort den Haak. The houses are both fully furnished and each house provides beds for 8 people. Additional children’s cots are available.

Parking for several cars is available on the site. The entire garden and driveway include fencing and gate, especially designed to keep away the deer, which live in the dunes , but also suits to hold the  little ones control.

The layout of house no.40 is as follows:

Ground floor: Entrance with hallway where cellar and toilet, large sunny living room, with open access to the kitchen, dishwasher present, through the kitchen you enter the adjoining utility room, washer and dryer, with access to bathroom with large shower and toilet . The living room has a sitting area with two sofas and an armchair. TV  via internet is available. Furthermore, a dining table with room for 8 people. WiFi internet connection is free to use. In the house are books, board games, shuffleboard etc. available for large and small children.

The kitchen is equipped with two worksheets with sink, oven / microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and plenty of storage. Coffee maker, water cooker, etc. are available. In the pantry a worksheet including a second refrigerator, washer, dryer, and a large double hotel kitchen sink. From the pantry, you have access to a large bathroom with shower and toilet.

First floor: 4 bedrooms, each room equipped for 2 people. 3 rooms have a double bed (1x160x200 and 2x140x200 cm) and one room has a bunk bed (2 x 90x 195 cm). Cots are available for the youngest. All rooms have a sink with hot and cold running water and closet space. Furthermore, a landing and a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The windows of the bedrooms are equipped with removable insect screens.

Top floor. Normally closed. The whole house is equipped with a gas-fired central heating. In the living room is a wood stove. Firewood is available under the roof behind the barn. The detached barn in the garden serves as storage space for garden tools, garden furniture, parasols, rotary dryer, wagons, toys, sandpit, high chair, crib, etc. The barn also has a large freezer. Bicycles are available for old and young. A gas grill and a charcoal  barbecue are available.

Behind the house is a big  sun terrace with garden furniture and parasols. Two sycamores (trees) provide shade for those who need it. Behind the barn is a large enclosed lawn with playground equipped with climbing tower and trampolines. Play area is abundant.

The layout of house no.42 is as follows:

Ground floor: Entrance hallway with which bathroom / WC and hall closet where a washer / dryer is installed, large sunny living room, fully equipped kitchen, the living room has a seating area with 3 sofas and an armchair. Additional dryer in the little barn next to the terrace. Audio / video equipment, CD, DVD, and TV (cable) are present. Furthermore, a dining table with room for 8 people. Free. WiFi internet connection In the house are books, board games, shuffleboard etc. available for large and small children.

The kitchen is equipped with sink worktop, oven / microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and plenty of storage. Coffee maker, kettle, etc. are available.

First floor: 3 bedrooms, each room decorated for a minimum of 2 persons. 2 rooms have a double bed (2x180x200 cm) and one room has a bunk bed (1x90x200 cm) and two one person beds (2x80x200). This room is also a folding bed available. Cots are available for the youngest. Two rooms are equipped with a sink with hot and cold running water. On the landing, which is lockable, there is another double bunk bed and a large bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.  The windows of the bedrooms are equipped with removable insect screens The attic is normally locked. The whole house is equipped with a gas-fired central heating.

The detached barn in the garden and serves as storage space for garden tools, garden furniture, parasols, rotary dryer. A gas-fired grill and charcoal barbecue are available. Behind the house is a larg sun terrace with garden furniture and parasols.

Behind the barn is a large enclosed lawn with playground equipment and trampolines. Play area is abundant. Bikes can be rented in the village.
